Q. How long have you been at Lucite International?
A. I joined the Company in March 2010 and have undertaken a range of different roles to date including: Laboratory Technician; Experimental Analyst and I am currently a New Business Development Technologist.
Q. Describe working for the Company in three words
A. Knowledgeable, challenging and rewarding.
Q. What do you do in your role on a day to day basis?
A. My role is to provide technical support to New Business Development Team, which involves new products design and looking for newer technologies globally to utilise Methylmethacrylate.
Q. What has your training and development been like?
A. Lucite International has very good training and development program, which helped me to gain experience and grow my professional career. On-the-job learning attained from seniors mentoring and also in-house training provided by line-managers was very encouraging. The Company sponsored me to do a part-time PhD collaborating with Teesside University, which has been a key development program for my personal and professional life.
Q. How would you describe the work environment and Company culture?
A. The working culture at Lucite International is very transparent and productive.
Q. What do you enjoy most about your role?
A. I enjoy solving problems using techniques from different fields of science and technology. Which is challenging but I love it. I also enjoy working with a wide variety of cognizant people with different backgrounds in the Alpha process, New Business Development and Bio-projects.
Q. What advice would you give to somebody considering applying to Lucite International?
A. I strongly recommend joining this multi-disciplinary company. It doesn’t matter which field you choose, you will get good training and support from senior staff, which is very encouraging.
