Q. How long have you been at Lucite International?

A. 34 years. I started working for the Company after I left school as a trainee Process Operator in 1984.

Q. Describe working for the Company in three words?

A. Challenging, interesting, rewarding

Q. What do you do in your role on a day-to-day basis?

A. I am an Area Operations Manager. I lead the team responsible for our Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) work, and oversee production and cost control for this part of our site.

Q. What has your training and development been like?

A. Very supportive. I have had the opportunity to complete both technical and management qualifications, to better enhance all of my skills. This helped me to move from my role as a Process Technician through to supervisory positions and then Operations Manager. In addition have travelled to a number of Lucite International sites around the world to experience different technologies, operating practices and cultures.

Q. How would you describe the work environment and Company culture?

A. Supportive but also challenging.

Q. What do you enjoy most about your role?

A. The interaction with a number of different teams and people on site. I am part of a team that solves problems on a daily basis, which is very rewarding. Also, being able to see some of the long term improvements and projects being successfully implemented is really worthwhile.

Q. What advice would you give to somebody considering applying to Lucite International?

A. It is a rewarding and enjoyable place to work. Be prepared to work hard and learn a lot.
