Integral part of the Beaumont, Texas and Memphis, Tennessee Site Leadership Teams with responsibility for establishing and implementing management systems and practices that achieve engineering effectiveness and efficiencies for the Beaumont and Memphis sites. Lead the Engineering functions that provide engineering capabilities and project management expertise to support the Manufacturing Strategy. Manage the Reliability and Projects departments to ensure that 1) Project Excellence is implemented effectively, 2) Manage and direct the activities of personnel responsible for implementing all applicable maintenance and reliability standards for the purpose of inspecting, maintaining, monitoring, and improving the integrity and reliability of plant equipment, 3) staff are supported and developed to provide the capabilities needed by the organization.
Deliver World Class EHS performance in line with the site strategy through successful implementation and management of processes and best practices. Lead the organization to create and maintain a safe work environment / mindset for all employees, contractors, and visitors achieving the site’s goal of zero safety and environmental incidents.
Once formally validated and appointed as the Site Responsible Engineer, the role has the following responsibilities:
Manages and coordinates the implementation of those EHS standards which relate to the asset integrity.
Responsible for implementing and maintaining local standards, procedures, compliance auditing and regulatory compliance reporting (including required maintenance procedures and training).
Responsible for training and developing site Asset Integrity Procedure (AIP) Responsible Engineers and Nominees.
Ensures non-site based Responsible Engineers are properly supported in terms of understanding site management systems and relevant legislation.
Appoints new design authorities and design verification authorities.
Ensures site maintains organizational competence for delivery of engineering standards.
Review all proposed Management of Changes to ensure changes are in keeping with Lucite and PSM requirements (as well as site’s reliability objectives) while ensuring that adequate risk assessments are conducted and acted on prior to implementing the changes.
Establish and manage the sites asset reliability program in an effort to achieve World Class reliability and maintenance effectiveness through the implementation of accepted industry best practices in the following areas:

Ensure engineering work requests and projects are implemented effectively to support Manufacturing Strategy. Includes project leadership through the stage gate process, sanctioning process, project execution, and handoff to the operations, maintenance, and reliability functions.
Champion the continuous improvement of all aspects of capital project execution through application of Project Excellence in order to achieve or exceed Site commitments.
Successfully interact, participate, and manage development of capital expenditure budgets to meet short, medium and long-term goals.
Develop personnel capability at all levels of the organization with the right skill sets and competencies to become a high-performing team aligned to the site and regional objectives.
Monitor and manage site maintenance fixed costs to ensure budget limits are achieved.
Identify and drive improvement opportunities for all aspects Maintenance and Reliability practices and processes.
Develop the sites Asset Lifecycle capital plan to address infrastructure and equipment life sustainability and performance concerns.
Demonstrated leadership skills and cultural change agent. Continuously contributing and improving Asset utilization and overall Plant’s performance (effectiveness and efficiency) through KPI’s and effective coaching, mentoring, and training of engineering staff.
S. in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering
10+ years of Maintenance and Engineering Management experience in a Manufacturing or Chemical Plant environment required with multi-site experience preferred.
Certification as a Maintenance and Reliability Professional, although not required, is preferred.
Experience in Process Safety Management especially in areas pertaining to asset integrity.
Strong leadership capabilities and communication skills (both verbal and written). Must be able to communicate at all levels in the organization.
Proficiency in management of Computer Maintenance Management Systems required.
